How to Distribute Using SharePoint

caution
If you wish to distribute settings information using SharePoint, please contact our sales team in advance. We will perform the necessary configuration required to enable this feature.

How to Distribute Settings Information

Settings information must be distributed to users and applied to the User Outlook Add-in.
There are two patterns for distributing settings information: Using SharePoint and Using the Settings Distribution Tool.
For Using the Settings Distribution Tool, refer to here.

tip

The distribution methods available for each type of settings information are as follows.

  • Tenant Settings and User Settings can use both Using SharePoint and Using the Settings Distribution Tool.
  • Group Settings can use only Using the Settings Distribution Tool.

Using SharePoint

The procedure is as follows.

  1. Create a SharePoint folder to place the settings information files for distribution, and set appropriate access permissions so that the target users can access it.
  2. Obtain the sharing link to the SharePoint folder created in step 1 and contact the support desk. The support desk will contact you when the configuration on the 365 Alert Outlook Add-in service side is complete.
  3. Using the Admin Outlook Add-in, create the necessary settings information (Tenant Settings, User Settings) and export it as files.
  4. Place the files exported in step 3 in the SharePoint folder created in step 1. When doing so, do not change the file names.
  5. When the User Outlook Add-in starts, it retrieves the settings information files from the sharing link, and the settings information is applied to the User Outlook Add-in.
caution

Until the configuration on the 365 Alert Outlook Add-in service side is complete, the settings information placed in the SharePoint folder will not be applied to the User Outlook Add-in.
